Udi Laska


Udi Laska serves as an operating partner of Middlemarch Partners. He is an experienced senior investment banking and operating executive with a strong track record of funding, building, running and selling profitable companies.

Currently, Udi is the Chairman and CEO of Photonic Capital, a Middlemarch Capital Partners portfolio company that provides LED lighting solutions to commercial real estate owners on either a purchase or lease to own basis.

Prior to founding Photonic Capital, Mr. Laska was the President and CEO of Pelion Financial Group, Inc. a diversified financial service company he helped create. The group is composed of a pension plan administration company, a registered investment advisory company, an insurance agency and a full service broker/dealer.

Prior to Pelion Mr. Laska served as the Chairman & CEO of American Benefit Resources, Inc., an integrated retirement benefits company. Mr. Laska built ABR through a series of acquisitions and at the time, it was the largest independent provider of pension administration and advice in the country. Mr. Laska sold ABR to a publicly traded company at a substantial profit.

Mr. Laska has also served as a Chief Financial Officer for ASAP LLC, a national back office, bookkeeping and payroll service provider to franchisees and small businesses. ASAP’s clients include; Dominos, Subway, Jimmy Jones and other franchise concepts.

Currently, Mr. Laska serves as the Chairman of the University of Massachusetts (Lowell) Advisory Board. He previously served on the board of both public companies (i.e., Headway Corporate Resources, Bentley Pharmaceuticals, and Intile Design) and privately held companies (i.e., U.S. Mills, Tune-In-Sports, Investment & Benefit Services, Inc, First Liberties Financial, Inc.)

Earlier in his career, Mr. Laska worked as investment banker in the corporate finance departments of The First Boston Corporation, Drexel Burnham Lambert and PaineWebber where he specialized in the service and financial service industries. Mr. Laska also served as a deputy CFO for Citicorp where he was responsible for long term funding and capital compliance.

Mr. Laska received an MBA from Stanford University, a Masters of Science from Brown University, and a Bachelor of Science (with high honors) from the University of Massachusetts (Lowell). He holds series 7, 63, 24, and 79 FINRA licenses. He is also a recipient of ASME Williston Medal and the University of Massachusetts (Lowell) Francis Cabot Lowell Award for Achievement in Business.
